Yesterday’s collaboration event at the Lass O’Gowrie in Manchester made good progress on a number of projects. In summary:

• A number of Twitter accounts for North West MPs for the MP Tweets project were created and linked them to the TheyWorkForYou RSS
• For a project (yet to be named) that will show you a Twitter user’s recent posted links we started to write a program to expand shortened URLs.

MCC-Work-For-You - our current main project.

• More work on the committee extraction and organising side.
• Got a postcode lookup to find your local councillors.
• Further work on meeting attendees. Once this is refined we will look at getting a public beta published.
• Initial starting points were made of for a Sheffield equivalent

It’s good to see that a few of these projects are progressing well and face-to-face collaboration is starting to bear fruits . Now we have some core code we will be tidying up the projects and write more about them for non-techie users.

Thanks to TYOC-3 contributors Ben, Ciaran, Frankie, Adam, Ian, Andrew, Sam, Tom and Stuart (remotely).

The EventWax sign up page for the TYOC-3 is now live.  Please sign up if you are attending.

It will once again take place at the Lass O’ Gowrie in central Manchester.

We will continue to make progress with MCC Work For You, and are hoping to start a branch for Shefield - which could be named SCC Work For You.

It’s hoped our 2nd project MP Tweets will also have a beta live around the event.

It’s also hoped to start a new fun project - possibly based around Twitter, but maybe you’ve your own ideas ? (Feel free to leave a comment below)
